The Solid Waste District hosts other special recycling collections. The following items can dropped off for recycling at District headquarters, 4750 East 131 Street in Garfield Heights. Marked collection bins are in our building vestibule.

Hours are Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. The Solid Waste District is also open on the second Saturday of each month for special recycling drop-offs. County offices, including the District, are closed in accordance with holidays.

NOTE: We appreciate every effort to recycle. We also appreciate drop-offs only during our open business hours. Please do not leave items outside our building when we are closed. It may be considered illegal dumping.

All Cuyahoga County residents are invited to take advantage of the recycling programs listed below.

For more details about the collections listed below, call (216) 443-3749 or send an email.

Mixed Paper & Cardboard

The Solid Waste District hosts a Royal Oak Recycling Paper Retriever bin. The mixed paper recycling bin, located in our parking lot at 4750 East 131 Street in Garfield Heights, accepts mixed paper, shredded paper, junk mail, magazines, office paper, boxboard, cartons (no caps/lids) and corrugated cardboard.

All paper and boxes dropped off for recycling should be empty, clean and dry. Cardboard and cartons should be flattened.

Be a good recycler. Rain and precipitation in the collection bin makes the paper wet and can ruin recycling efforts. We appreciate recyclers that close the lid of the bin after they've placed paper or cardboard inside it.

Some city service departments also offer mixed paper and cardboard drop offs for residents.
