Social Media Policy

Certain social media sites encourage and allow for the submission of content, including but not limited to, comments, photos, videos, and links. The Solid Waste District has instituted the following content policy for its social media pages:

 

1) To maintain respectful interaction on our social media pages, we encourage that all content:

• Stay focused. All viewpoints are welcome, but comments should remain relevant to the District’s page and content.
• Be respectful. Personal attacks, profanity, and aggressive behavior are prohibited. Instigating arguments in a disrespectful way is also prohibited.
• Tell the truth. Spreading misleading or false information is prohibited.
• No spam. Repeated posting of identical or very similar content in a counter-productive manner is prohibited — this includes posts aggressively promoting services or products.

 

2) Content posted may be subject to deletion if it contains: 

• Partisan political views or views of a political organization
• Commercial endorsements
• Discriminatory, racist, offensive, obscene, inflammatory, unlawful, or otherwise objectionable statements, language, or content
• Information that is clearly off topic
• Content that advocates illegal activity
• Content that infringes on copyright or trademarks 

 

3) Explanation of deletion may be provided. 

 

4) Records will be kept of all content that is deleted for the above reasons, subject to the District’s Record Retention Policy.

 

5) We reserve the right to block or delete offenders of this policy.
