The City of Brook Park provides curbside recycling every other week for city residents. Combine cans; cups (aluminum, paper, and some plastic); cardboard; cartons; glass bottles and jars; paper and boxes; plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs; as well as clear plastic clamshells loose (unbagged) in the provided wheeled cart. See the list below for detailed recycling and collection programs in Brook Park.
Scrap Metal
Do not place scrap metal in your curbside recycling. Recycle popcorn tins, car parts, metal cord and rope, appliances, and scrap pieces at a local scrap yard.
Brook Park has a year-round drop-off for scrap metal at the Brook Park Service Garage. From April-November, hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM–7:00 PM and Saturday from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM. From November-April, hours are Saturdays only from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM.
Service Garage: 19065 Holland Road, Brook Park
Do not place scrap metal in your curbside recycling.
The only metal that belongs in your curbside recycling is aluminum and steel food and beverage cans.
Reusable Metal Cups and Mugs
Unwanted steel or stainless steel cups and mugs are recyclable, but they should not be placed in your curbside recycling cart or bin. Instead, you can drop them off at a local scrap yard or your community's scrap metal collection.
Stanley has a take-back recycling program.
Drop-Offs for Scrap Metal
Scrap metal, including extra-large cookie and popcorn tins, car parts, appliances, clean aluminum foil, license plates, wire hangers, nuts or bolts, and hot water tanks, can be taken to a local scrap metal yard for recycling. You may receive a rebate.
Some communities offer a scrap metal drop-off or special curbside pick-up for residents. To find information for your community, use this website’s geolocation services or choose your community from the green ‘Select a City’ drop-down at the top of the page and click ‘See Details.’
See the Business Locations list below for a list of scrap metal recyclers.
Before recycling a license plate, we recommend cutting it in some way so it cannot be used by someone else.
Scrap Metal Removal
Local hauling companies are willing to pick up and haul away your scrap metal items. Check the Yellow Pages for scrap metal haulers or junk removal services near you.
