Welcome to Green Team Central!

This page is dedicated to the Green Teams in Cuyahoga County. It provides a space where you can find an organized effort in your area, learn about other government agencies, subject matter experts (SMEs) and nonprofits that work to better the environment, and connect you to green topics and activities of interest.

A green team is a group of individuals with a common goal of creating a cleaner, greener, more sustainable lifestyle in their community of residence. Some community green teams were created and developed by people that met during our Recycling Ambassador program.

Is there a Green Team in your community that we should know about? Send us an email to connect and tell us about your organization.

About the Solid Waste District

The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is the leading resource in Cuyahoga County for information, expertise and programs that support sustainable materials management and reduce the environmental impact of waste.

Our seven staff members work to empower residents, communities, and organizations to manage their waste responsibly by reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting. We also work hard to connect residents, communities, businesses, and like-minded organizations in Cuyahoga County.

Additionally, our agency encourages waste management program transparency for the benefit of the user and the public, so they may understand the cradle-to-cradle/cradle-to-grave process and its ecological effects.
