Republic Services provides weekly curbside recycling for city residents. Combine cans; cardboard; cartons; cups (aluminum, paper, and some plastic); glass bottles and jars; paper and boxes; plastic bottles, jugs, and tubs; as well as clear plastic clamshells loose in blue bags. See the list below for detailed recycling and collection programs in Strongsville.
Furniture
Donate furniture in good condition to a community service organization that helps those in need. Broken, ruined or unusable furniture goes in the trash.
In 2026, Strongsville will host a seasonal collection event in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, collecting furniture and building materials at the Strongsville Service Garage. Date TBA. Call City Hall for details.
Service Garage: 16099 Foltz Industrial Parkway, Strongsville
Do not place unwanted furniture in curbside recycling.
Donate
Furniture in good, working condition can be donated to a community service organization that will distribute the items to those in need or sell them to support their organization's mission. See the list below for Donation Locations.
Consider posting good, usable furniture in an online marketplace or a Freecycle site.
Recycle
Furniture with metal frames can be disassembled for recycling. Discard wood or fabric in the trash, and recycle the metal. Check with your community about a scrap metal drop-off or collection. Find a scrap metal yard.
Disposal
Broken, ruined, or unusable furniture can be disposed of in your community's bulky waste collection or taken to a waste transfer station for disposal.
