Styrofoam is a trade name for expanded polystyrene (EPS). Styrofoam is hard to recycle because it takes up so much space relative to its weight, and few markets exist. Earth911 provides details about expanded polystyrene and the issues with recycling.
Some UPS Stores accept air pillows and bubble wrap for reuse. Check with your local store.
