School Supplies
School supplies can be donated to a community service organization that will distribute them to teachers and students in need.
Do not place unwanted school supplies - such as pens, pencils, rulers, binders, or markers - in recycling.
Disassembled notebooks, books, and loose-leaf paper can be recycled curbside or at a mixed paper drop-off. See details.
Donate
School supplies can be donated to a local community service organization, church, school, preschool, daycare, or summer camp that can use the items to support their work or will be distributed to teachers and students in need.
See the Donation Locations list below for local donation opportunities.
Recycle
Drop off unwanted crayons, colored pencils, pens, markers, and highlighters at any Staples store. As part of the Staples Writing Tools Recycling Program, you can drop off your used or unwanted crayons at any Staples Store location across the United States. Staples will ship them to The Crayon Initiative at no cost to you.
Mailback recycling programs are available for crayons. See The Crayon Initiative and The National Crayon Recycle Program.
Mailback recycling programs might be available for markers. See Crayola ColorCycle.
