Dispose of Medical Equipment and Supplies Right

Some usable medical equipment and supplies can be donated to local community service organizations that will distribute the items to people in need. They can also use the items to support their work.

Earn a rebate for unwanted oxygen concentrators through the 1st Class Medical Buyback Program.

Recycle or donate a used CPAP machine and new, unopened CPAP supplies through the American Sleep Apnea Association  or see tips from the sleep wellness company Sleep Doctor.

Used oxygen hoses, masks and other CPAP supplies should be placed in the trash when the items are no longer in good, working condition. Most organizations do not accept donations of used oxygen tubing or CPAP supplies due to sanitary concerns. Do not place hoses in curbside recycling.

MedWish International is a not-for-profit organization that saves lives and the environment by repurposing discarded medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid in developing countries. Individuals wishing to donate health-related products can call the Cleveland warehouse at (216) 692-1685 and schedule a drop-off of unused, non-expired medical supplies and usable medical equipment. MedWish is unable to pick up medical supplies and cannot accept expired supplies. See donation details.

For donation opportunities, see the list below.
